Rockanje

Rockanje, a seaside resort where everyone finds well at ease quuckly. Around there are dunes which are densily grown. As of the spacious car parks at the two beach transitions, Eerste and Tweede Slag, you enter via a beach square the marvellous situated North Sea beach. The seaside resort is offering all kinds of recreation for young and old.

Beach

The sand banks before the coast are ensuring a calm sea, so that children could play safely at the edge of the water. During the summer holidays there is also a rescue-squad and First-Aid post present. The seaside resort belongs at the top 10 of clean beaches and possesses the Blue Flag, an international environmental reward. Both beaches are wide so that you have all space needed. You could excellent surf, parasail und sea-kayak. If you want to sit at the beach a little more sheltered? Then you have to go to the Oostvoornse Meer (lake)

This lake forms the boundary between Voorne and the Maasvlakte. The southwestern side is with its sandbanks ideal for kids. All kinds of playworks are present. At the other side is a place where you could excellent scuba diving. The various beach pavillions are an ideal place to spend a day at the beach in a relaxed and comfortable way. Would you like to enjoy in all quietness of a day at the beach? Just walk at the beach east- or westernlike and experience the soothing rustling of the sea.

The beach could also be reached via a walk route through the dunes. Here you could make lovely walks. The walk goes across blowing dunes, dune lakes and thickets and ends at the top of the dune with a marvellous view at the sea and in the distance the windmills at the Haringvlietdam.

Points of interest

The surroundings of Rockanje is offering something for everyone, you could horseride, surf, dive and cycle in and around the vast recreational areas as the Oostvoornse Meer and explore some culture at the Open Air Museum De Duinhuisjes where you are going back to the time of about 1900.
